Focusing-Oriented Supervision is a supervision approach in which you will be oriented towards your felt experience of your coaching work. In Focusing-Oriented Supervision, you are supported to connect inward and articulate your in-the-moment experience in relation to your supervision question, so you can more clearly understand your client, yourself as coach and what is happening in the interaction between you both.
Focusing-Oriented Supervision is a very powerful way of working and can constitute a full or be used as part of a Coaching supervision session. From here you begin to see more than before and unravel complexities, as your self-understanding supports you to become fully client centered, understanding how you, as coach may unknowingly be intruding on your client’s capacity to find their own answers. This approach brings new perspectives, fresh insights, clarity and an energy renewal that supports you to become masterful in your coaching work.
With focusing, supervision is deeper and richer as you are gifted with a greater understanding of yourself and your clients as well as an invaluable skill to share with your coaching clients.
What to expect
Focusing-Oriented Coaching Supervision
Focusing-Oriented Coaching Supervision takes place both one-on-one or in group settings and which you choose is a personal preference.
One-on-one sessions provide an intimate learning environment to work in a focusing way with your supervision question as well as deepening your understanding and your Focusing practice. One-on-one session are 90 minutes in length, generally on line via Zoom or in-person, if agreed in advance. Based on your supervision needs, we can meet at regular intervals or on an adhoc basis or a combination of both.
Group sessions take place 4 times a year, for 3 hours each and can take the form of a closed or an open group. In the closed group the 6 coaches remain the same from session to session and do not change, so you get a chance to connect with, learn from, get to know and build a network of like-minded peers. These dates are set annually in advance. The open group is available to drop into on a needs basis and while it does not require the commitment of the closed group, you do need to booked your place in advance. Places are limited and a minimum number is required to proceed.
Dates for both closed and open groups are released in October for the following calendar year and early booking is advised.
